Farallon conducted an environmental evaluation of a Seattle cargo container shipping company located on 70 acres of property along the lower Duwamish Waterway that was leased from the Port of Seattle. Shipping company operations included cargo packaging, container loading, shipping, and maintenance activities. The environmental evaluation investigated environmental conditions, compliance with applicable environmental regulations, and use of BMPs.
The research Farallon conducted to assess regulatory compliance included review of the facility’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Industrial Stormwater Permit, King County Wastewater Discharge Permit, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Medium Quantity Generator documentation. The facility was co-permitted with the Port of Seattle under the NPDES Industrial Stormwater Permit, with commingled stormwater discharge from other facilities upstream of the common outfalls on the leased property.
