Mr. Jared Kerr, who served as a Farallon intern during the summer of 2013, has completed his studies and joined the firm as a Staff Environmental Scientist. Jared recently graduated from the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. His coursework had a strong geology and hydrology emphasis, including subsurface flow and restoration ecology. Jared worked on a class project involving application of GIS software that used elevation data to outline watersheds and track down-gradient contaminant migration. Experience gained during Jared’s internship with Farallon included providing support for Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure inspections; excavation work; boring logs; and soil and groundwater sampling. In his role as Staff Environmental Scientist, Jared is involved in projects relating to stormwater management and subsurface contaminant mitigation.
