December kicks off Farallon’s 20-year anniversary
as a leading environmental consulting firm.
Founded on a vision of world-class expertise, Farallon has grown to nearly 100 employees in nine offices on the West Coast. Farallon’s founders opened the firm’s doors in 1998 to provide due diligence, site characterization, and remediation services using creative, forward-thinking solutions.
“Farallon was founded to create a company that is collaborative with each other and our clients, is trusted, and provides exceptional services. These have been our core values for 20 years and will be into the future,” says co-founder Peter Jewett.
Today, Farallon is still guided by its core values as we adapt to an ever-evolving industry and complex environmental challenges. Our environmental services have expanded and evolved, too, and include stormwater and regulatory compliance, engineering, sediments, mediation and litigation support, and insurance claim evaluation. Farallon remains at the forefront of change in the industry, with involvement in emerging contaminants, ASTM International Standards revisions, evaluation of climate resiliency in the Pacific Northwest, and more.
Amy Essig, Chief Executive Officer, knows the secret to Farallon’s success. “Our greatest asset is and has always been our dedicated employees,” she says. “They have built our remarkable legacy and positioned the firm for continued growth.”
To continue attracting skilled professionals and maintain a culture of leadership, Farallon transitioned to a 100 percent employee-owned company in 2017. “We have a significant history of directing projects to successful closure,” says co-founder Cliff Schmitt, “and becoming employee-owned is one of our greatest achievements.”
