Farallon is proud to announce that Ron Kofron, P.G., C.E.G., L.G., has been promoted to Principal Geologist. Ron’s 38 years of industry experience includes performing or directly managing more than 1,000 environmental site assessments and remedial actions. Ron has worked in California and Washington to solve his clients’ environmental challenges with a pragmatic and sensible approach.
“Ron is a seasoned, curious, and talented professional who brings tremendous value to Farallon,” commented Jym Schwartz, Farallon’s Quality Director and fellow Principal Geologist. “This recognition of his skills and contributions is well-deserved. He’s one of the first people I consult when looking at complex projects in southern California, whether those difficulties are technical, logistical, or political. Ron’s also just a lot of fun to work with.”
During his site assessment and remediation work, Ron has solved contaminant migration puzzles in geologically complex environments with multiple water bearing zones. These sites have commonly been affected by petroleum-based fuels and lubricants and industrial solvents for dry cleaning and degreasing, but metals, perchlorates, pesticides, and PCBs are not unfamiliar to him. Ron’s experience and track record earned him the designation as the “PCB Auditor” named by a major Southern California utility provider under a USEPA Consent Agreement to audit and remediate 10 former electrical substations.
