Heightened stormwater management requirements sparked strong interest in the 2015 Northwest Environmental Business Council (NEBC) Managing Stormwater conferences held recently in Washington and Oregon. Among the 750 conference attendees were several stormwater specialists from Farallon’s Washington and Oregon offices, keeping apprised of industry developments to better support client stormwater management needs. Attendees were interested in learning effective technologies for managing stormwater, and methods to increase efficiencies.
Because this year’s conferences coincided with the start of a 5-year stormwater industrial permit cycle, attendees had numerous questions about maintaining compliance in the new regulatory environment. Regulatory agencies representatives presented a range of programs clarifying current permitting requirements.
Farallon’s active involvement in environmental associations such as NEBC has generated collaborative relationships with regulators, clients, and other stakeholders, increasing the benefit to clients who rely on Farallon when facing stormwater compliance issues.
