Farallon is pleased to announce the promotions of Emerald Erickson-Mulanax, L.G., R.G., to Project Geologist; Ryan Hibbs to Project Scientist; and Andrew Vining, E.I.T., to Project Engineer.

Emerald’s 5 years in the environmental consulting industry includes cost allocation and litigation support, Phase I environmental site assessment and Phase II investigation, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater and surface water monitoring and sampling, and remedial construction observation for projects in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.  She currently is managing complex litigation support projects for Seattle sites along the Duwamish River, and Phase II investigations for projects in Washington State.  Emerald is the lead for Going Greener, Farallon's green and sustainable practices initiative, and has supported implementation of Farallon’s new database system that has improved data management efficiency within the firm.

Ryan’s project background includes providing environmental oversight for stormwater, sediment, and erosion management programs; identifying and implementing stormwater control measures; and conducting groundwater monitoring and sampling.  He also has experience in hazardous waste spill response.  Ryan assists clients with stormwater and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan compliance and associated permit management.  He currently is involved in the operation and maintenance of an industrial wastewater treatment facility, and the management of investigation-derived waste.  Ryan is an active participant in Farallon’s Health and Safety Committee.

Andrew has applied his Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering and Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering to a variety of Farallon projects, including providing system support for the development and implementation of remedial actions, and construction observation and contaminated-material-management support during cleanups.  He also is involved in the engineering aspects of stormwater management.  Andrew recently provided construction support for excavation of contaminated soil in Skykomish, Washington and various downtown Seattle development sites, assisted in the design of an industrial wastewater pH‑neutralization system, and developed engineering cost estimates for feasibility studies and cleanup alternative evaluations.
